    Well I have been waiting for a reply, seems like no one has answered my question. Can someone please post some suggestions. urgent

    You have 2 options. Either use your old H1 which is still valid (assuming u still have a valid visa stamp) and enter US (carry a latest offer letter from employer). If you use the old H1, then you will only have 2 more years of H1 time left.

    You can file for a fresh H1 visa in Master's quota under consular processing and when its approved, attend the Visa interview, get a new H1 stamp, and re-enter using the fresh stamp. This way, you will get fresh 6 yrs time on H1.

    Why isn't IV a national member of the Reform Immigration for America Campaign? If you take a look at the list of participating organizations Organizations � Reform Immigration For America (http://reformimmigrationforamerica.org/about/organizations/) you'll only see that the TX state chapter has signed on. Core group, could one of you take a look and sign-up? Would IV consider cooridnating events with them during 2010?

    I saw the list and all organizations want to give citizenship to undocumented. We are all documented.

    Gentlemen,

    I had a quick question with EAD I understand that I can switch job after 180 days as long as there is 50% match in job description. However my companiy's legal coordiantor send me a weird query that she cannot find the job in hard to fill category. So my question is Does the job I am applying for using my EAD has to be hard to fill as in case of H1 or the only requirement is that the job description should match 50% with the underlying LC.

    My understanding is in current times, you cannot file I-140 and I-485 concurrently. Did you file your I-140 and I-485 together in 2008?

    You need a copy of approved LC. However last time i remember they are fine with the "Confimation from the webpage also " Not 100% sure ..

    My wife is in the same boat. We filed for H1 amendment in the first week of September and online status tells it's done on 20 November. We still have not received documents in mail from USCIS. This was in Vermont. We were told initially that it might take upto 3 months.

    Gurus, My place of birth is different in my passport than that of my birth certificate. I will have the place of birth changed in my passport. Could you pls tell me how difficult/messy is to have the uscis change the place of birth in my h1b petition based on my new passport. I am currently in my second year h1b. please throw light on any possible complications both serious and trifle. I dont have my h1b visa stamped yet. My GC process is going to start soon.

    Nothing is difficult, my friend :), as long as you have an excellent attorney to support you. Most attorneys know how to handle your kind of scenario. Please engage services of a seasoned immigration attorney who will do the needful, by writing to USCIS.
