Fiat Panda and Lancia Ypsilon Replacements Pushed Back for 2012

Following CEO Sergio Marchionne's comments at the 2010 Paris Motor Show (see here), Autonews Europe has uncovered new information regarding the Fiat Group's future product launches.

One of Fiat's most important models in Europe, the third generation Panda, was originally due in summer 2010 but its launch had already been pushed back to September 2011. Now, sources inside the company told the news site that the introduction of the small five-door hatchback will be further delayed until January 2012.

The third generation Lancia Ypsilon supermini has also been delayed more than two years, as have the replacements for the Fiat Idea / Lancia Musa small MPV twins and the Fiat Multipla 3+3 seater people carrier, which has been in production since 1998. The latter two launches were scheduled for December 2011 but have now been postponed until the second half of 2012.

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne froze his company's spending in 2008 as the financial crisis hit Europe. Spending was set to return to normal this year, but has now been postponed indefinitely in light of what Marchionne perceives as an unimproved European new car market.

He now predicts a weaker Q1 2011 than Q1 2010, due to the ending of scrappage schemes in many European countries. The rest of 2011 is expected to be no better sale wise for Fiat, Marchionne predicts.

Analysts are predicting that Fiat's new car sales are likely to continue to decline without any new products; sales in Europe fell 13.9% to 723,356 vehicles in the first eight months of 2011 in a market that declined only 3.5%, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).

Stuart Pearson, an auto analyst at Morgan Stanley in London, says: "Fiat is playing a dangerous game and by delaying key models risks missing any European Union recovery if they are wrong on the timing. Customers are only paying for brand new metal."

The report did not mention any plans on future Alfa Romeo cars.

Fenice Milano Blings-Out the Fiat 500C to create "La Dolce Vita"

After seeing Fenice Milano's Rolls-Royce Diva, would you expect them to do any less to a car like the Fiat 500? No, of course not, which is why you see all the gold trim covering the Italian company's 500C-based "La Dolce Vita".

The rag-top La Dolce Vita is powered by a 1.4-liter engine from Fiat that puts out 101 ponies and is connected to an automatic transmission. Other than the excessive gold inserts, teak paneling will be crafted by Fenice Milano for the interior in order to better harmonize the city car with Fenice Milano's other offerings.

Within the potentially attractive interior is teak, gold, and leather, as well as a redesigned dashboard (check it out for yourself below and let us know if you like the Mini-esque central info pod).

As with the Diva, FM's 500C will be offered with the usual round of optional performance upgrades in the form of an ECU/intake/exhaust tune-up and suspension tweaks. Available colors will be a "chromium" Deep Red on the Sportiva model, or a more "sober and refined" (...) white golden pearlescent on the Classica.

Personally, I kinda-sorta like the "La Dolce Vita" when compared to the slightly tacky Ghost. Now, I'm no baller and have no need for the 24k gold treatment, but if some of that gold were removed the car could make an interesting competitor to the Aston Martin Cygnet.

Fiat Explains Under-The-Radar Paris Appearance, will Debut New Models in Late 2011

Fiat has addressed a question at least a few people were asking this year in Paris, explaining its lack of significant presence at this year's Paris Motor Show. According to CEO Sergio Marchionne, Fiat has been building up steam, waiting to release new product until late next year in order to better balance the brand's many companies' funds.

"We have saved ammunition awaiting for the recovery," Sergio Marchionne told journalists on the sidelines of the Paris Auto Show. "New models will arrive at the end of 2011, early 2012. Launching new products in a market that is so structurally weak has no sense," Marchionne added.

Hopefully between now and then we'll at least get a few hints at what Fiat will offer in the form of some sexy new concepts.

Other than waiting for that to happen, expect the super-sized Italian automaker to be concentrating on the Chrysler/Lancia revamp as well as trying to acquaint people in the States with the 500 mini and, hopefully, a new type of Fiat.

Expect more news on Fiat's product plans as it becomes available.

Spesifikasi Fiat 500 Twin-air Lebih Bertenaga dan Irit

Geneva - Geneva car exhibition Motor Show will witness the first appearance of the latest environmentally friendly technology from Fiat, the tech machine-Air Twin pumps that can boost energy as well as fuel efficient and emissions.

Developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT), this new machine to apply the Revolutionary Multiair system combined with a special fluid dynamics
optimized for best fuel efficiency.

In addition, by adopting the concept of extreme downsizing and tuning the basic mechanics of amazing, this new machine can produce power reaches 65-105 HP, and produces 30 percent less CO2 than the same engine performance.

As quoted in a release Fiat Geneva Motor Show visitors will be looking more closely the application of this machine the first time in Fiat 500 variants.

Fiat 500 is equipped with a 900 cc two-cylinder turbo-powered 85 HP which has the lowest CO2 emission levels for gasoline engines, which up to 95 grams per
km, without compromising performance and driving pleasure.

Compared with two engine versions currently available, Fiat 500 Twin Air provides good performance with reduced fuel reaches 15 percent,
and performance 25 percent better than the 1.2-liter engine.

Meanwhile, compared with 1.4-liter engine, fuel consumption could be 30 percent more efficient, with performance comparable to the same height and also
berkendaranya pleasure.

The new machines were 23 percent shorter and lighter 10 percent, compared to 4-cylinder engine, thus opening further development opportunities, in order to use the methane gas feed or a combination of hybrid technology.

In particular, a version of methane Twin-Air will be available and immediately gave the reduction of CO2 emissions is higher, it is possible to adopt a pair of special injector than gasoline in the intake manifold injector.

So is to use a hybrid system. Precisely because of their small size, Twin-Air well suited to be accompanied by an electric motor, with a device arranged between the engine and gearbox to recover and store energy during braking.

Core labor Twin-Air systems are the electro-hydraulic valve management system in which fuel is working to reduce consumption by
controlling air directly through the inlet valve.

With a small engine capacity, but has turbo can increase the maximum torque, power is available at very low rpm, so the accuracy of the response will be much better than with conventional machinery.

This car looks simple and minimalis design but this car is fiat pand hydrogen have modern in hydrogen because this car use concept design for hydrogen car. Fiat has unveiled the Panda Hydrogen, a concept vehicle powered by an innovative fuel cell system, capable of delivering all the necessary power without the need for drive batteries. The Panda Hydrogen is equipped with a fuel cell system called "Full Power": it lacks a drive battery for the accumulation of electrical energy that in most fuel cell vehicles is needed for acceleration. Panda Hydrogen is the result of a joint venture between Fiat Auto, the Fiat Research Centre and Fiat Powertrain Research & Technology with the support of the Research and Environment Ministries. It features performances a urban use: it accelerates from 0 to 50 km/m in less than 5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 130 km/h. The hydrogen tank capacity guarantees the Panda Hydrogen a range of more than 200 km over an urban cycle. Refuelling time is very quick at less than 5 minutes, i.e. comparable to the time taken to refuel a methane car.The electrical power generation system is supplied with hydrogen at a pressure of 1.5 bars and oxygen contained in the air. It produces electrical energy so efficiently that 60% is available at just 20% of maximum power. The alternating current three-phase asynchronous electric engine and the transmission are located in the engine compartment together with the various auxiliary systems. Though Fuel Cell propulsion systems will not be widely available before 15-20 years, in 2006 Fiat will start a field research phase with some demonstration Panda Hydrogen fleets.
